The area around Hooke Farm Bed and Breakfast Dorset

Dorset needs no introduction when it comes to fantastic countryside ranging from coast to
hills, from valley to river. The countryside around Hooke Farm is a maze of footpaths and bridleways
stretching right to the coast. Indeed, a number of these were known smuggler's pathways. Hooke is in a
designated area of outstanding natural beauty and about 9 miles from the sea and Bridport. The very pretty
town of Beaminster is a five minute drive away and the county towns of Dorchester and Yeovil are each about
half an hour's drive away. Your hosts can advise you on local areas of interest or just recommend seasonal
local walks, such as the stunning display of bluebells in Hooke Woods in the Spring, the breathtaking views
of the sea which can be seen just over the hill on long Summer evenings and the rolling countryside towards
Devon in the Winter-soaked sun.

There are a number of places within an hours or twos drive where you'll find stunning
Cathedrals, Abbeys and architecture; including Wells, Sherborne, Bath, and Exeter. Poole Harbour and the
unspoilt Isle of Purbeck is also within an hours drive or perhaps closer to home the wonderful ancient
monuments at Eggardon Hill Fort, Maiden Castle, Corfe Castle, Badbury Rings, and Stonehenge or the best of
Dorset's famous Jurassic coast, at West Bay, the Regency resort of Lyme Regis or, you may want just to 'case
out' where the 2012 Olympic sailing is scheduled to be held at Weymouth or walk along Chesil Beach nearby.
The list and choices of fabulous places to visit are endless! Of course, when you come home to Hooke
Farm, a most comfortable bed awaits and a delicious breakfast the next morning.
